I worked in a laboratory under a microscope for over a decade as a glorified tooth fairy (ceramist). After an hand injury I went back to school as I always wanted to finish my ASU degrees.
With writing on a print Newspaper 3 years at WKU, staff then Editor-in-chief, a gallery showing at Morrison Gallery ignited my creative passion once again. I havent looked back and I cant see ever doing anything else besides filling my days with creativity in imagery and the written word.
I think the position of children's book writer and illustrator is a weighty one. Many times its the first experience and introduction a child may have for a subject when reading and viewing illustrations. That is a contact that can last a lifetime. I believe its an important job to produce quality for young minds. Its my passion.
